Product Variants and Kits
How to create product variants (size, color), kits, and combos, and how inventory is automatically decremented.
What are variants
Variants let you manage a product with multiple attributes like size, color, or material under a single parent product. Each attribute combination generates a unique SKU with its own stock.
For example, a "Blue Polo Shirt" with sizes S, M, L, and XL generates 4 variants that share name and description but have independent stock and price.
Creating attributes (size, color)
In Inventory → Attributes, create the attributes you need (Size, Color, Material, etc.) and their values (S, M, L, XL; Red, Blue, Green). Then, when creating a product, assign the attributes and Kontafico automatically generates all combinations.
You can edit the price and stock of each variant individually after generating them.
- •Size: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
- •Color: any color name
- •Material, flavor, weight, or any custom attribute
Kits and combos
A kit is a product composed of several inventory components. For example, an "Office Kit" can include 1 keyboard + 1 mouse + 1 mousepad as individual components.
When a kit is sold, Kontafico automatically decrements the stock of each component by the defined quantity. No manual adjustments needed.
How inventory decrements kit components
When an invoice or POS sale including a kit is issued, the system looks up the component list and generates the corresponding inventory movements for each one.
If any component has insufficient stock, Kontafico shows a warning before confirming the sale. You can configure whether the system blocks the sale or only warns.
